Back from Colorado

We made it back from Colorado about a week and a half ago. It was a amazing trip even though it was only three days long. We decided while we were there to only eat at local only places to experience the food. We mainly ate in the collage district because everywhere else in Denver is so expensive. We decided to go to Downtown Denver and see what was up. The prices was what was up !!! Downtown was all ultra exclusive, expensive, and just down right not made for tourist. It's a wealthy locals only area. I guess we are just use to Downtown Nashville, it's always inviting there. Grab you a cheap burger at Hooters and enjoy the riverfront and music. Not that way in Downtown Denver. The rafting was awesome !!!! I was so proud of Michelle. It was just her, me, and our guide Linc. He was a great guide. We took the class 4 rapid trip, hey go big or go home !! As you can tell from the picture we had a great time. It's so fun to do somthing like this with your wife. She was so strong. It releay showed me a side of her that I knew was hidden but existed. To work as a team to get through tough obsticals together pulled us more close to each other than we have been in a long time. It charged those relashionship battiries that were running low. To know you partner has your back in any situation you may face means everything in a relashionship. Expecialy when your starring at a class 4 rapid. She wants to do the class 5 trip next. I think this fall we may take a day trip to the Occoee River in East Tenneessee to take a class 5 trip but Colorado probably ruined us.

Well We Made It

Well we made it to Colorado yesterday and are staying in Denver. The mountains are absolutely stunning. There is still snow on them! We attended Michelles brothers wedding. Let me tell you guy's, I thought I knew what backwoods was until today. It is amazing to see how other people live sometimes and makes you realize that we are blessed. No Electricity, No hot water, and a outhouse, and that was where the wedding took place. But it is stunning to see the wide open spaces and mountains. Tonight were just gona take it easy but tomorrow we are hitting the rapids so please wish us a good safe time !!!

Were heading to Colorado

So we, Michelle and I , are going to be driving to Colorado on Friday and Saturday. This will be our second road trip to Colorado since we have been together. The first time was not so great. We were pretty much forced to drive up there, stay for a half day, and drive back. Yea that was quite frankly horrible but it was our first road trip together so we got some good memories. This time is going to be different. Were going at our own pace and not worried about anybody else. We will be staying the night in Bonneville M.O. the first night. We booked all of our stuff through Orbitz and it worked well so far. We are going up there for her twin brother's wedding, I'm going for the white water rafting. Were going to stay just a couple of days but it should be fun. Just to get away from the house now will be great. I'm going crazy not working and just sitting here. Pray for us guy's for a safe trip and return.

Fishing Huh

Hello All. So I went fishing last Friday at Cuba Landing. I was not planing on getting there so early but I'm glad I did. I woke up at around 4:30 and could not go back to sleep so I was on the road by 5. I put in at around 5:20 the whole time wondering if getting up so early was worth it. I trolled out to the main channel and hit the gas. I knew it was all worth it when I watched the bow of my boat cutting through the thin layer of fog that was lifting off of the water. I positioned myself in my favorite little fishing spot about six miles up the river. The Bassmaster Classic was launching from Paris Landing which is about 30 miles North from where I was. I had been watching the leader board online and was hoping to see one of these Pros pass by. I had read that the leader was using a mix of deep diving crank baits and plastic worms. When I pulled up to my spot I knew exactly what I was going to throw out, a deep diving Strike King. Well three cast into my spot there it was, a huge tug at the line and the familiar sound of my drag being pulled from my reel. It was a big one or at least felt that way. I had caught a earlier white bass in the same location and they pull much harder than a largemouth so I was hoping that it was not a white bass. I knew it was a largemouth when I started to crank on him and he tried to surface and jump, something a white bass rarely if never does. There I was with what I knew to be a good size largemouth on the line with only my third cast of the say. I fought this fish and even had to go around the boat a time or to. He was a fighter. I have caught a 8 pounder before but this fella was fighting much harder that him. Well I got him in the boat, a solid 4.8 pound bass. Not to bug but boy he sure did not want to get on the boat. After a photo opt he was released back to the water to fight another day. I knew after that the rest of the day was pretty much shot. You see if you hook a good fish like that your third cast the rest of the fish just can't measure up to your initial thrill of the big one. A couple hours later I loaded up and headed back to the house and got home before 11, which was also nice.
